The Columbia Global Mental Health Programs is proud to have hosted filmmaker Sandra Luckow as Artist in Residence. Dr. Pike served as Scientific Advisor for her film, That Way Madness Lies, which tells the story of her brother Duanne’s life with serious mental illness. Told in part through video recordings from his iPhone, the film reveals the devastating nature of repeated hospitalizations and encounters with police for individuals living with severe mental illness. It has received numerous awards at domestic and international film festivals.
